Brief One: Logo Design

Project Deadline: 4 week project: August 31st – September 30th

Brief:To design a new logo for the Rosses Community Development Project.

RCDP: The Rosses Community Development Project is looking to rebrand its organisation.

  • Running a competition to all schools in the Rosses to find a new Logo that best represents the RCDP going forward into the next generation.
  • The winning Logo will become the symbol of the RCDP and become widely known throughout the Rosses and further afield.
  • The winning student will win a personal Laptop and €1000 for their Art department.

What is the RCDP?

Their mission statement is to overcome the effect of disadvantage in the Rosses are, by actively promoting participation, equal opportunities and social inclusion through building awareness, abilities, facilities and supporting local community development.

  • Ø They are part of the Rosses Community and provide services, support and information to a wide range of community groups and community initiatives in the Rosses area.  It serves over 7000 people in total
  • Ø Some of its services include:
    • “Men’s Sheds”
    • Good Morning Service in Burtonport.
    • Active seniors.
    • Childcare Groups.
    • Women’s Support Services.
    • Toy Library for Children with Special Needs.
    • Ø It was founded in 2002 and also runs a Community Shop which raises money which goes back into the community. These community groups can then apply for this money for specific projects. Some projects already helped in recent times are:
      • Burtonport Railway Walk.
      • The Angle Sensory Garden.
      • Dungloe Christmas Lights.
      • Comharchumann Forbartha agus Fostaiochta Arainn Mhor.

Why does the RCDP want a new logo?

  1. 1.      They want to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.
  2. 2.      They want to let people know who they are.
  3. 3.      They want to let people know what they do.
  4. 4.      They want to communicate with the young and old.
  5. 5.      They want to get people involved.
  6. 6.      They want people to use their services.
  7. 7.      They want people to know we are friendly and accessible.
  8. 8.      They want people to get in touch with them.
  9. 9.      They want to stay relevant to everyone in our community.

What should the Logo include?

Image: This is of your choice. You can include letters if you wish.

Text: The titles below will be placed beside the logo to represent the services in both Irish and English.

Where will the Logo be used?

On stationary, brochures, posters, the web, business cards, T-shirts and on outdoor signage. It needs to be readable both on a small and large scale.
